Hello! Excuses for not posting in ages - um - summer, working two jobs, and no time to do as much art as I would have liked to. BUT, all is well because I finally got myself a brand new macbook pro with the money I had saved up and also managed to ehem, *whistles and looks around* 'acquire' the whole CS5 suite.
Junior year of school has begun, I have no idea how to finance this year of school, but, all my classes are going well. I'm finally getting into more illustration specific things this year so I'm really excited about all the assignments we've been getting so far. This particular piece is for my Illustrative Drawing class. In the fall semester of this class, the class goes to the zoo to draw animals and then we get to create our own story/concepts based on the animals we see. So the whole of the semester, all we do is, create/write our stories, write scenes, design environments, design characters, props and all sorts of fun stuff :D These are some of the main characters in my story (which I'm yet to fine tune, more details soon!). My idea for this assignment is to develop a story for an animated short (which would hypothetically run for no longer than 1 minute), so I want the style to be kept simple, colorful, bold, fast paced and energetic. This one is just a sketch of how I want the characters to look and I might explore more ways of painting digitally because there is so much to learn and so many ways I could approach my paintings!
